(not)parkrun results 16/11/2020 – 22/11/2020

In the original competition of North East Fingal (aka Dublin) vs Kerry it is yet another win for Kerry.

We had really hoped to wake up the Malahide crew but so far nothing to write home about. To those of you who are logging for Malahide do keep it up but also encourage your fellow Malahidians to start logging as we are fairly certain there are a lot more than 32 out running each week.

Where's your f*%king pride

So much for inspirational speeches! River Valley increased their total by a massive minus six on the previous week.

We might park the motivational speeches for now because our pride is locked up somewhere around Swords Central along with Pennys.

Size isn't everything and we cannot look at St Annes and think they are only top because they are one of the biggest parkruns in the country. That simply isn't true. Where are Marlay, where are Malahide, two of the biggest parkruns in the country neither of which can barely get over 30 people to log their runs.

To get 204 people to log their runs takes a lot of work. It takes behind the scenes Whatsapp messages, phones calls and reaching out to people to get involved. Everyone in River Valley reading this is only too aware of people like SiobhΓ‘in and Lynda who dragged multiple family members out every week from multiple generations. We all know the feverish activity on a Sunday as people are called up to see if they logged their runs. Therefore the top seven parkruns all deserve credit for their efforts and we would also add Bere Island who are yet to make an impact but we know are trying to get their game face on.

We might also mention the Acts of Contrition that take place on a Monday as people fess up to having forgotten  to log their runs. We would never call people out on this except those members of pour core team who were guilty this week. Yes we are talking about you Mags, Rachel and Peter C. Feckers!!!

The Potentials

Our numbers are dropping but we easily overtake Tralee on the Potentials with just a small return to form. We would not like to add further guilt to our core team but 3 more runs would have definitely tipped the balance in our favour.

We think everyone involved in the (not) parkrun war will be very excited to see when parkrun returns how many new people turn up for Erris. We expect to see a massive increase based on the absolutely phenomenal number of 220%.

Well done to the Erris and surrounding area community, you guys are playing a stormer!

We have to also give big kudos to Clonbur with that number of 134%, the only other parkrun to exceed 100%.

A gentle reminder that River Valley once had 106% but now where is our f%$king pride................oh wait let's not start that again!

Come on the Juniors

We had to switch back and forward between two pages a number of times to spot the difference. There are five junior parkruns with runs logged this week. That is exactly the same number as last week. It just isn't the same five events. Malahide have joined the group with two juniors logging but who is missing?

We will give you a minute!

TRALEE!!!

What a shocker! Maybe they were so desperate to beat St Annes that they whipped the poor kids around a 5k route!

We can't  really slag them too much as their were a few RV juniors who lodged a few complaints with their parents. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Top of the World Ma

Well maybe not top of the world. Not even overtaking Australia this week but it was close.

Finally

Did you get some bling in the post today?

Well done to everyone who got their medal and cap today for completing their Virtual Dublin City Marathon. We know a lot of people put in a lot of hard work (well apart from Mags who basically rocked up on the day πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚).

See you in the run report folks
