A Big Park Delivers Big Numbers

The record books were thrown out the window this week when St Anne's obliterated the opposition with a total of 205!

Erris84

Buncrana37

Make no mistake though it was a mighty effort from Tralee too with their highest finish yet. Well done St Anne's and well done to Tralee.

However we do like to look at the performance figures and see who the real winners are!!

It is only when you look at the percentage of (not) parkrun finishers vs the weekly average of real parkrun finishers that you see just how powerful the performance by Erris actually is. Fantastic stuff by Clonbur too.

Can't help but think that we at River Valley have let ourselves down a little bit letting Tralee get in ahead of us. 77% come on folks we are much better than that. If one person can log their run from an army camp in South Lebanon then what's your excuse!

Don't really want to wreck their buzz either but St Anne's with 61% would definitely have their paper marked as "could do better".

The ones to watch in the coming weeks are an improving Buncrana and the mystical Bere Is. Both of whom we know are putting a drive in to get more people out and active.

The Inter County Championship

There are times like now when we regret not including St Anne's in the mix of the Fingal family known as Dublin. We have to just learn to live with the fact that St Anne's is not in Fingal but is in fact in.........................Dublin.

With River Valley numbers down and Tralee's figure hitting a new record Kerry have just about managed to scrape a win by the tiniest amount of 55 😂😂😂

Well done Kerry but watch out because St Anne's may form a "Dublin" alliance!!

The Real War!

Despite our best efforts of stirring the Southside out of their slumber the battle between the Northside and the Southside remains a very one-sided battle.

Poor Niall Coppinger is fighting a one man battle to try and drum up the numbers in Bushy but they just can't compete. All we can say is God help them if Malahide ever wakes up.

What about the World War?

We were gutted with the news today that South Australia is going back into lock-down. They had planned to get back to real parkrun this week but that now looks highly unlikely. We are sending out all the positive vibes that we can and wish them well with the new lock-down - may it be short lived.

We did however very nearly catch Australia this week and were only 29 behind them. With a little push we might just take them this coming week!!

We know Artur and Slawomir read these things so we can pose the question "are the Polish not competitive?" Very surprised 😂

The Kids

Small shout out to our juniors even if St Anne's took that crown too!
Have you kids not up to the full 5k? Then keep them registered to their local junior and get them out for a 2k. Why not get Holywell on the map!!

That's it's for this weeks results. Do get out for a run or a walk. It will do you the world of good. We, River Valley, might eventually get to challenge the might of Tralee or St Anne's.

If you know of someone who is in Malahide, Ardgillan or Donabate tell them to get their finger out and get in the game! We can definitely beat Kerry if we all get out!!
